1. Scope and responsibility

SCS Tasks is a workplace task-management service used by participating companies and their approved team members. This policy applies when you use the SCS Tasks website, Android app, or iOS app. Your organization may also have its own employment, records-management, and privacy rules. Contact your organization if you have questions about how it uses information made available through SCS Tasks.

2. Information we collect

  • Account and profile information: your name, email address, profile image, internal user ID, company, department, role, account status, notification preferences, and user-block choices. When you sign in with Google or Apple, that provider supplies the basic identity information you authorize.
  • Work and user-created content: tasks, descriptions, dates, priorities, progress, comments, replies, direct chat messages, attachments, reports, projects, assignments, activity history, exporter details, and loading-point information.
  • Precise location check-ins: latitude, longitude, accuracy, time, task, and check-in type when a field worker chooses to claim or update a task that requires verification, or when a user explicitly approves an expiring super-admin request for their current location. SCS Tasks does not request continuous or background location tracking.
  • Files and photos: documents or images that you deliberately select and attach to a task. The app uses the device file picker and does not scan your general photo or document library.
  • Authentication and integration data: session records and, if you connect Google Calendar, authorization tokens and calendar event identifiers needed to perform the requested synchronization.
  • Technical and security information: IP address, request time, browser or device information, application version, push-notification token, update requests, and diagnostic or security records produced when you use the service. A push token identifies an app installation for notification delivery, not your advertising identity.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • authenticate users, create profiles, and enforce company and role permissions;
  • create, assign, claim, update, discuss, verify, and report on operational tasks, and deliver direct team messages;
  • show authorized super administrators a worker’s one-time task check-in or explicitly approved current-location response;
  • send requested in-app, device push, and email reminders and synchronize Google Calendar when enabled;
  • operate, secure, troubleshoot, audit, and improve the service; and
  • comply with law, protect users, and investigate misuse or security incidents.

4. Who can receive information

Information is available only as needed for the service. Authorized members of your organization may see profile, task, comment, attachment, and activity information according to their role. Exact worker check-in coordinates are restricted to authorized super administrators. A current-location request is visible to the recipient, expires after 10 minutes, and can be declined. When approved, one fresh reading is shared for the recipient-selected 15, 30, or 60 minutes; the request record may remain without coordinates for audit purposes. Direct chat messages are visible only to the participants; users can report or block another participant, and authorized administrators can review a submitted abuse report as needed to protect users. The chat directory shows the name, work role, profile image, and email address of other active SCS Tasks users so that a user can find the intended recipient.

We also use service providers to host and deliver SCS Tasks, including infrastructure, database, authentication, maps, calendar, application-update, and email providers. These currently include Vercel, TiDB Cloud, Google, Expo, Apple, and Hostinger. They process information under their own terms and privacy commitments and only for the applicable service. We require service providers handling personal information for us to use it only for the specified service and to provide protection consistent with this policy and applicable law. We may disclose information if required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of SCS Tasks. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

5. Location information

Foreground location is requested in context, immediately before a worker claims or updates a field task, or after a user chooses to approve an expiring current-location request from a super administrator. If you decline, SCS Tasks will not capture or share a location for that request. Current-location responses are one-time readings shown to the requesting super administrator for the selected 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Task check-ins may be compared with the designated loading point and retained with the task activity record. Neither flow performs continuous or background monitoring.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain account and operational records while the account is active and as needed to provide the service, maintain business records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Retention can vary by data type and your organization’s requirements. You can request account and associated-data deletion through our account deletion page. Where a record must be retained, we will explain the reason and, when practical, remove or anonymize personal identifiers.

7. Security and international processing

We use access controls, encrypted network connections, protected authentication tokens, and role-based permissions designed to safeguard information. No online system is completely secure. Service providers may process data in countries other than your own, subject to applicable safeguards and law.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete personal information. You can edit basic profile and notification settings in the app, revoke device permissions in system settings, disconnect Google Calendar, or contact us. We may need to verify your identity and consult the account’s organization administrator before fulfilling a request.

9. Children

SCS Tasks is an adult workplace service and is not directed to anyone under 18. Do not create an account or submit information if you are under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has used the service.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when appropriate. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to notify@scstasks.com.
